Twenty-Two looonnngggg years ago (when I was just a wee little five year old), the Detroit Tigers were a World Championship Baseball Team. But, for the past several years the memory has been severely overshadowed. That was until a three run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning placed the finishing touch on an Oakland sweep and put the good ole' city of DETROIT, MI right back into the 2006 World Series. Now, the Tigers have once again made all of us Michiganders feel like that little five-year-old that I remember. So, whether from near or far (Chesapeake, Va) we're cheering hard . . . "Let's Go 'D'etroit!!!"

Don't get too excited, yet. They be may be up against the Cards. That means trouble for 'D'etroit. Even though Shannon is from near Detroit, she'll be cheering for the Redbirds-I'm making her. :)
Yes, there's just a little bit of excitement up here, even for us transplants! Our speaker at church publicly thanked the Tigers for finishing off the A's before Sunday night's game so that he could take his time preaching. As Christina Hairgrove mentioned on her blog, all of the businesses with changeable signs have something about the Tigers up there, so it's almost like a small town feel :) Anyways, it's fun. You guys ought to come up and enjoy the atmosphere! (And snow!?)
Yes, we are also excited about our Tigers!
We were never Tigers fans b4 but are rooting for them in the playoffs since neither of our teams (me- Reds, Stephen- Braves) had such a great record.
GO TIGERS!!! The WHOLE complex heard me shoutin' when I heard that crack from that bat and ball as it flew oh so far away into the left field seats! Really...I couldn't stop shouting. But, Phoenix being a college dorm room (everyone from everywhere else) there is always lots of cheering during sports games:) I am very anxious to see how they can do and totally cheering on my home-team! :) GO TIGERS!!!!
Hey Dono,
the Cards are coming to Detroit! Watch out for the underdog! Our pitchers don't need a week's rest like some teams' pitchers do.
