What We've Been Up To . . .

. . . Cleaning out the attic . . .
I've been going through ALL of our stuff to organize the things we have accumulated the last four years. Some of it has been placed in different boxes to go with its catgory or simply given away. This was my finale!

. . . Trimming our bush . . .
As you can see, it was a monster. The new trim bush doesn't necessarily look better, but it will grow back. Thank you Flatt's for allowing us to borrow your truck.

. . . Worrying about Godiva's bestest friend, Cali . . .
She was staying at our house while her mom and dad (Stephen & Sarah Branine) went to NYC. She decided to be adventuresome and find a way out of our backyard on July 4th. Since then we have been trying to locate her. The horrible nightmare ended this morning at 5:00 when our little Godiva woke us up. I took her to go potty and she went. She still continued to whine when we got inside. That probed Don to say maybe we should look outside for Cali. Sure enough, Cali was out on the street in front of our house looking at us. She came running inside and we were finally able to break some good news to the Branines! Welcome Back Cali! We hope you enjoyed your vacation, next time tell us where you are going before you go . . . we were worried sick!

Praise the Lord that Cali returned!! We were praying. Looks like you've been having fun. Thanks for planning the Farewell Party for Tim & Julie; it was a nice picnic. It was nice to see you again.

Hi, Katrina! We are loving Michigan - I need to get ahold of Karen Swierenga sometime soon - Josh's cousins go to our church. Anytime you guys are around, we'd love to have you pop in. I think I have some pics of our house on one of my old posts on the blog - it's definitely fun being homeowners (pricey too :-). And I'm SO glad you guys were able to find Cal- I bet you were about to lose your mind. So glad it worked out. :-)

We heard about Cali as well. So glad that she came back. I can't imagine having that happen while dog sitting. Sounds like you are having a productive summer and staying plenty busy. We will have to get together sometime.

Way to put all that info into one post(Instead of having a lot of smaller ones). Looks like something I would do. Great pics! So when are you guys coming by again to play my new favorite game?

Looks like you guys are having a great summer cleaning and visiting with family! Two things still on my list to accomplish this summer! So glad to hear of Cali's return.

Great job with the update -- that was fun to read. I can only imagine how you felt when Cali was missing. We were "fish sitting" for some people, and three of them died. Of course, this was way worse than your situation because yours turned out well. We felt soooo bad!

Glad you had a good visit to Michigan.

Hope to see you guys sometime soon. Not sure when we'll be at CBC- Williamsburg next, but it will happen sooner or later.

I know this is totally random, but I was just thinking about the time when I used to clean the basement of the library and Don was on security. And all the times he would come in and totally freak me out. Oh the stories I could tell about late nights working campus services and the security guys...lol. Hope you guys are doing well. Happy B-day on the 5th Don. August 5th ROCKS!!!!!!

It is so fun to go to the races! Our raceway back home has a dirt track, so the cars probably don't move quite as quickly as they would on a paved track, but it makes for a really great atmosphere! On the back side of the track, there's a cornfield. Once in a while, one of the cars will lose control and disappear over the edge of the track into that cornfield. It's really funny when they finally get back onto the track and the car has a bunch of cornstalks sticking out of it! Heehee! :D
